Florida Forest Festival For over 50 years people have travled from all over to meet in Taylor County to celebrate its rich heritage in the timber industry. Known as the "Pine Tree Capital of the South" Taylor County sets aside the 4th Saturday in October every year to host the many thousands who make the journey to Perry. Some of the events you will experience during this festival include an Antique Car Show, the King Tree parade and a variety of Logging competitions. Florida State Blue Grass Festival Every April brings the spirit of Blue Grass to Taylor County. The Florida State Blue Grass Festival and Competition is held the first weekend in April. Competitors from around the state pick their way from regional competitions to meet in the Finals held in Perry, Florida. Along with the pickin comes good food and fellowship as arts and crafts, food vendors and workshops welcome those who decide to visit.
